    The Mornington Peninsula is both a desirable and prestigious seaside location for the memorable Wedding!

    Norwood House Receptions in Mt Eliza has been designed specifically for Weddings

    The beautiful gardens and lawns over the 2 acre property provide numerous photographic opportunities.

    Gazebos, ponds and waterfall over rocks, provide beautiful, tranquil and elegant surrounds for the perfect day.

    The elegant Reception Room with it’s magnificent and large parquetry Dance Floor all combine to provide the setting

    The Management Top

    The Managers at Norwood House are the Owners- Ida and Chris. They are also Industry renowned in the Hospitality Industry. From initial contact through all the planning stages THEY are the ones you deal with - and THEY will be there on the day to ensure that all of the planning is carried out.

    Ida is involved totally in the planning and the needs of the Bride. No demand or requests are too much for Ida who ensures that the Bride receives every possible support, encouragement and professional direction to achieve each Bride’s personal vision.

    Chris ensures that the food and alcohol service, is of the highest standards- his Hotel Management career of 40 years, ensures that this area of the Reception day, is in good hands.

    The Venue Top

    The Reception Centre is complimented with 15 Motel style rooms.

    A complimentary Spa Bridal Suite with a King Size round bed is included in all of NHR Wedding Packages for the Bride and Groom to stay on their Wedding Night.

    All of the other rooms are kept for sale to Wedding guests only.

    This is an excellent opportunity for interstate/overseas guests to stay where the Reception is being held. Also for relatives and friends to make a weekend of the Occasion. It takes away the pressures of “who is the designated driver”, allowing all parties to consume alcohol and enjoy the day to the fullest.

    Likewise this leads to an extension of the Wedding Ceremony to the following day.

    Breakfast with all of your guests. This is included in the Package for the Bride and Groom, and only $15.00 per person for a Full English Breakfast for your Wedding Guests and Friends.

    Accommodation is economical, clean and comfortable.

    Rooms with a Queen Size bed start at $85.00 per night
    Four guests in one room $115.00 per night

    The Planning Top

    Don’t leave anything to chance, on this- your most important day!

    Ida and Chris provide comprehensive and professional coordination of every facet involved with your Wedding planning- personally- and at no cost.

    Ida will expertly guide the Bridal couple through the other services required on the day:-photographers, music, video, bombinieres, gifts, celebrants, bridal wear etc. Using her Interior Design background she will do the same with tonings, colours and decorations of the Reception Room- tableware, candelabras etc, or if the Bride has her own ideas- Ida will embellish these, if required- or leave the entire design planning etc to the Bride.

    An often-heard phrase at NHR is “If it’s legal, we’ll do it!”.

    The team here will provide AS MUCH or AS LITTLE assistance as required.

    The Set Up Top

    The Norwood House “attention to detail” is evident in the Reception Room set up.

    The plans and decisions made over the previous months all come to fruition, with the layout and decoration of the room- the personalisation of every event reflects the Brides personality and input.

    The Bride and Groom are encouraged to lay out their own place cards, presents and bombinieres, usually one or two nights before the day. Apart from ensuring that all seating and pairings are 100% correct, it also allows the Bride to see the result of all of her planning and decision making, visually.

    Any minor adjustments or additions can then be made- if necessary- with the minimum of fuss.

    Both Ida and Chris work on a constant basis to ensure that the Wedding Reception process from commencement to completion, is “stress-free” for the Bride and Groom.

    The Dawn of the Big “Day” Top

    The big day has arrived - there is not a golfer, bowler, or unknown Restaurant diner in sight - there are only invited Wedding Guests in attendance. Norwood House Receptions is dedicated to yourselves- the Bride and Groom-, your relatives and your Wedding guests.

    While the Bride and her Bridesmaids are having hair and makeup done, and the Groom, Best Man and Groomsmen are out playing golf! …

    At Norwood House

    • The Wedding Cake is being delivered
    • Final touches are made to the Reception Room
    • The D.J./Band/Entertainment are setting up equipment
    • The chosen menu is being prepared and the guests are arriving to check in to their accommodation which has been kept and sold to them- not to the general public.
    • The sun is shining- everything is set for a fantastic day.

    The Onsite Wedding Ceremony Top

    The South Terrace poolside garden area provides an idyllic setting for the Wedding Ceremony to be held at NHR.

    Ida has Topiary trees and tuille with pearls and flowers adorning the Gazebo.

    Chairs with flowers along the aisles are set amongst the gardens - the red carpet leads up to the ceremony area.

    Music is provided and the songs of choice from the Bride and Groom are played when the Bride makes her entrance; when the Bridal Register is being signed and following the ceremony when everyone is extending their best wishes to the “Newly-Weds”

    The Reception Top

    There is a lot of pomp and ceremony in and around Weddings- the bottom line is: On the day, the Reception must be an unqualified success.

    NHR has an exemplary reputation for its service of food and drink of which it is Proud but never complacent.

    NHR has held Wedding Receptions for entire families of daughters

      

    and many of the Weddings booked- are for people who have attended another Wedding at the Venue.

    Every Wedding is set according to the Bride’s wishes.

    Every detail and plan that has been agreed upon, in the months leading up to the Wedding, will be carried out on the “Big Day”.

    Importantly- the food will be hot, plentiful and beautifully presented.

    The drinks will be of good quality, cold and plentiful.

    The Bride and Groom will be led through the day with the help of Ida and Chris as will the Master of Ceremonies for the day.

    The Big Finish Top

    One of the benefits of celebrating at Norwood House, is the extended Liquor Licence held by the Venue until 1am. Apart from the extra hours of the party, it means that the evening does not have to be RUSHED.

    Whilst a basic schedule will be maintained - notoriously, Weddings run late.

    NHR adjusts with that, and all departments move with the ebb and flow of the evening.

    Room parties often break out, even after the Reception has finished.

    The Accommodation Top

    All available rooms are first offered, for sale to guests attending the Wedding.

    Most Wedding evenings, the entire accommodation is booked by Wedding guests, which allows revellers to enjoy the night, to the fullest.

    A room for 4 guests (Dble + 2 singles) is $115.00

    Breakfast Next Morning Top

    Whether guests stay overnight or not - ALL Wedding guests are entitled to join the Bride and Groom the following morning for breakfast.
